Lambs Conduit Street

Who knew some brick & sidewalks could create such a riddle?

I stand observing the smallest of things in Lambs Conduit’s middle.

Before me a street, with subtle storefronts and stark sun rays

Understand, overlook, something catches my gaze

A funeral parlor, wine shop and flower stand all placed together: fitting

Outside a cafe, in fur lined chairs, a chic woman in a hat is sitting.

All buildings with the roof three stories off the ground

The trees bare from winter, what else can be found?

Foot traffic light, not too much of a rush

City of Camden workers bristle brush bristle brush

In bright yellow vests, maroon pants and a hat.

I peer into an apartment; is that a cat?

A sign states “GOSH should not inflict 5 whole years of this convoy misery”

For they wish Great Ormond Street Hospital demolition rescissory

Was that where the protest was? I wonder

From Lamb's Conduit can you hear the machine and cheers like thunder?

Justice and action has been forewarned.

Just a block over, Emerald Court is adorned.

With green doors green cabinets green balconies and more

Green everything except for a cerulean door

Bricked with orange and yellow, this side streets stones glow,

I emerge onto rugby street, I see Honey and Co.

Buildings identified by the numbers I see,

How is building fifty four next to building twenty?

Not far off the normal path, but one can be discreet.

Skip over the hopscotch etched into concrete.

From places to shop to places to eat,

Who chooses the choices of Lamb Conduits street?
